On November 24, 2023, Prof. Dou Xiankang, the President of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) met with U.S. Ambassador to China Prof. Nicholas Burns. The two sides had in-depth discussions on implementing the San Francisco vision and promoting basic research cooperation and personnel exchange between China and the United States.

Vice President Dr. Yu Jihong, Acting Director General Dr. Zhang Yongtao and Deputy Director General Dr. Yin Wenxuan from the Bureau of International Cooperation attended the meeting.
