On August 25, 2023, NSFC Vice President Dr. Lan Yujie met with the delegation led by Dr. Ingrid Krüßmann，German Director of the Sino-German Center.

Dr. Lan Yujie welcomed the delegation and expressed his appreciation for the achievements made by China and Germany in jointly promoting Sino-German cooperation, especially during the past three years of the pandemic, overcoming many difficulties, cooperating with each other and jointly organising scientific and technological cooperation.

Dr. Lan Yujie reviewed the history of the Sino-German Centre, spoke highly of the achievements made by the Centre since its establishment 23 years ago, and exchanged views with the German delegation on the strategic planning for the future development of the Sino-German Centre, the adjustment of its functions and the further deepening of cooperation.

Dr.Krüßmann thanked Dr. Lan for NSFC’s strong support and assistance to the operation of the Sino-German Center over the years, and expressed the German side’s willingness to further strengthen cooperation and exchanges, jointly plan high-level strategic activities of the Sino-German Center under the new situation and new functions, continue to expand and enhance the influence of Sino-German Center, and make new contributions to the scientific and technological cooperation of the two countries.

Dr.Yin Wenxuan, Chinese Director of the Sino-German Center and Deputy Director General of Bureau of International Cooperation and other officials attended the meeting.
