The 3rd NSFC-RSE-CAS High-level Forum on New Paradigms for Future Collaboration in Science and Innovation was held in Beijing from March 8 to 9, 2018. The Forum was jointly sponsored by National Natural Science Foundation of China, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Royal Society of Edinburgh and organized by the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Vice President Hou Zengqian attended the meeting and delivered remarks at the opening ceremony.

More than 30 experts from China and Scotland, UK attended the Forum and had in-depth discussions on research and innovation collaboration in the fields of "big data" and "oil and gas".

During the meeting, Vice President Hou Zengqian met with Prof. Marian Scott, Vice President of Royal Society of Edinburgh. The two sides exchanged views about the current state and future development of Sino-UK scientific cooperation.
